Since 1995 the Oskar-Patzelt Foundation grants the "Great Award of Medium-Sized Businesses" ("Großer Preis des Mittelstandes") to companies from all of Germany. The company receiving such nomination can count itself among Germany’s corporate elite, because the selection criteria are numerous: apart from the positive overall development and the great innovative impetus of a company, service, customer focus, marketing as well as the creation and preservation of workplaces are assessed.

Schwarzer Precision enjoys one of the leading positions in all categories thus belonging to the companies nominated for 2010. This is an impressive proof emphasizing that the slogan "We care" not only applies to high-quality products but also marks the entire corporate philosophy of SP.

Schwarzer Precision takes its responsibility as modern high-tech production operation serious. Already years ago the entire plant converted to exclusively using green electricity. The consequence: drastically reduced CO2 emission.

Through voluntary contributions to ATMOSFAIR we now also support the climate friendly compensation of our business trips and flights. ATMOSFAIR invests our compensation payments into solar and hydro-power or energy savings projects. This saves the same amount of greenhouse gases that are generated by the CO2 emissions of our necessary business trips. Another small step to production with climate awareness: Because only the sum of many single measures leads to forward-thinking results.

UNICEF has an ambitious goal: to make it possible for all children in Africa to go to school. With donations to the campaign “Schools for Africa”, UNICEF has already built or renovated 680 schools. Besides, materials for schools are provided and teachers are trained as part of the campaign. As a result, 3.6 million children have already been enabled to go to school.

This year again, Schwarzer Precision is taking part in the campaign “Donations Instead of Gifts” to support long-term schooling projects for children in Africa.

Why is Schwarzer Precision, a modern high-tech company, not affected by the global economic crisis? The German Westdeutscher Rundfunk broadcasting company sent a camera team to find out as part of its series "Die Macher" ("The innovators"). A few days later the RTL broadcasters announced their visit as well. The coverage of the two broadcasting companies provides insights into the corporate philosophy of the "World's best manufacturer of miniature pumps" (original quote by RTL).

With the development of the world's smallest eccenter pump Schwarzer Precision opens up new performance dimensions. With outside dimensions of 13 x 22 x 32 mm these pumps permit, for example, the construction of gas analysis devices the size of a cigarette box. Further applications can be found in breath analysis, spirometry or with portable respirators. In spite of their size these 15.5 gram precision pumps are quite powerful: 900 ml/min free flow, 560 mbar pressure or 600 mbar vacuum are results that can be proudly presented. Another key aspect is their minute current consumption; even the size of the battery packs of portable devices can now be significantly reduced.
